We are so lucky to have our days filled with moments of love. You’re on your computer, and a nose sneaks under your hand. There’s the touch of their nose to your face as you lean in to their softness, and their eyes hold yours. The sigh of happiness when they nestle against you. The laughs at the leaps of joy when you come home, or say car, or take out the leash.
I often wonder if we spoke to our friends, lovers and family the way we speak to our dogs how much more love would be in the world? If we spent our days saying:
“Have I told you today how much I love you?”
“You are so gorgeous. Come over here. Give me a kiss. You want a butt rub?"
"I just love you. A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
If we murmured those words everyday. Over and over. To those we love. Would they start believing it? Would they say it back? Would it change the world?
