Memory Wall
We loved and were loved by……
What: I read a book last year - The Secret Life of Bees - and in that
book one of the characters had built a rock wall. And when the world got too
overwhelming, she would visit that wall, and slip a piece of paper into the
crevices with her concerns, and in doing so was able to dissipate those overwhelming
feelings.
So many things can bring about overwhelming feelings, so I started to create my own rock wall. And I thought I would share it with you.
This rock wall is on the Gang's property, near where I've buried the physical remains of so many that I have had to let go. Though the ones I've lost are always with me in my heart, my heart still aches. So I thought adding rocks of your loved ones to that wall - with the names of greyhounds that have filled your lives with love, and left so you can love others - might be appropriate during the Gathering.
When: Visit Frontier Movie Town, May 4. Select a rock from the pile in the parking lot near the buffalo, and put your dog or dogs' name(s) on it. Writing material will be provided. You can keep the Memory Rock with you during the Gathering, or leave it in the trailer there, or drop it off at the Gang's booth, or drop if off in my car. You are, of course, welcome to keep your rock and take it with you also. One rock per family please.
Who: Gathering Guests, who have lost loved ones, can do this.
In our hearts....always......
