Rescued from horrific situations in Guam, these two have become fast friends. They totally enjoy hanging out and getting in trouble together. They like to be kept busy and play really well together. Exercise, with stuffies, keeps them entertained. Martin, in particular, loves to chase balls, and might make a good Fly-Ball hound.

Martin, the white boy, is 5 years old, and gorgeous. He appeared on the door step of Guam residents with a severe hole in his side. He's all better now. Martin has a very manly personality, and needs everyone around him to know that he is THE man. He does get along with others, but would do best in a home where no other dog will challenge him. He's affectionate and playful, and looking for love. But not from cats, as he's not cat safe.

Janie, a sleek, beautiful, 5 year old black girl, acts like a one year old, especially when she's playing. She loves her toys, and loves to be kept busy. Very affectionate, she'll lavish lots of attention on you, and if you want to play, she's always ready. Janie would do best as an only dog, as she can be a bit bossy around others. Little dogs and cats definitely can't be part of her new life. Update: Janie has been adopted.
Please help us finish their long, treacherous journey with a happy ending. These two would love to adorn your couches, and will keep your family entertained for hours. You'll lose some weight playing with these two, too!
This gal is one big love muffin. Soft and plush, like your favorite stuffed polar bear, this white blonde beauty is 8 yrs young and looking to give love. During your days with her, she'll appear by your side, look right at you, and request, politely, to be loved. Then after her little dose of love, she'll, quietly, go back to her bed.
She arrived with bad teeth and gums, and while that has all been taken care of, she only has five teeth left. An important ritual to her, and one she hopes her adoptive home will continue, is that after every meal, she likes to have someone take a soft, wet cloth and wipe her mouth on both sides. She'll look straight at you when you do this, and when you are done will give you a kiss as a thank you.
She's very trim, but she does love her food. She likes all the other dogs' food too.
She's fine with little dogs, cats and females, though can take exception to boys that get 'too familiar' with her without her permission. She was bred, so she's probably saying - "I'm just not that into you!" She could easily be an only dog, as she does love individual attention. But she's used to pack dynamics, and avoids issues with most other dogs.
Is your home the home to lavish all the attention on her she deserves? She's in Las Vegas. Waiting. Call Janice at 702-565-8892.
Addendum: DeeDee spent about a month at Greyhound Gang, and she is a hoot and a half. She knows what she wants, and one things she wants from me to is to get up early. Seven am is NOT early enough. So from 5 - 7 am, when I'm ignoring her requests to get out of bed, she takes everything that isn't nailed down in my bedroom, and brings it out the dog door, and leaves it outside. Needless to say, I now pick up after myself. She has fit in very well, and loves all the exercise she's getting here. I did get her to sleep to 7 am this morning, too :) I totally guarantee lots of laughs as you watch DeeDee starting to trust, and be playful and make your house her own.
Ranger is a gorgeous, very loveable, well-behaved, 4 year old boy who is good with people, very outgoing, and loves life. His foster mom calls him a "teddy bear". Ranger also gets along well with other dogs.
Ranger has been diagnosed with Partial Central Diabetes Insipidus. Ranger has been treated in the past with medication which is extremely expensive. After consulting with a veterinary internist, Ranger is now on low doses of this medication. Ranger also is nearly blind in his left eye and has poor sight in the right eye. A veterinary ophthalmologist has determined that this loss of eye sight occurred earlier in life and the infection is no longer active. Despite his impaired vision, Ranger sees enough to watch the squirrels! He has adjusted well to his sight challenges in that he does not run into walls, furniture, etc. In fact, he loves to run in the backyard with the other dogs in his foster home.
Ranger needs free access to lots of water (because of his diabetes insipidus) and therefore needs constant access outdoor to relieve himself, so a dog door is important. One of the concerns with diabetes insipidus is that a normal bout of diarrhea or vomiting for most dogs could be life threatening for Ranger. Because of his condition, Ranger could dehydrate at a very rapid pace, so immediate veterinary care needs to be obtained for him in such circumstances.
Ranger needs a loving home with people willing to take on the challenge of his disability. It is easy to see that he is well worth the extra effort and would bring joy and companionship to the right family. Contact Carol at GPA-NW or call at 800-366-1472.

ARNOLD is a beautiful 10 year old who spent many of his years reigning as king of his racing kennel. Arnold is now enjoying playing with the two older female Greyhounds in his foster home. He is in fantastic shape, enjoys walks and conspiring with the other Greyhounds to get treats. Arnold would not mind sharing his living space with a feline or two. Contact Carol thru email or call at 800-366-1472.

ROSIE is an 8-year-old white with red female who had a litter of puppies following the end of her racing career. Rosie is a loveable clepto who likes to collect things around her. Rosie can be a bit bossy at initial introductions to other Greyhounds, but she lives comfortably with both male and female Greyhounds in her foster home. Rosie has also lived with cats and small dogs successfully. Rosie was born with an overbite, which didn’t get in the way of eating, but did cause damage to her teeth. She has lost a number of teeth and has gingivitis, so she needs constant attention to her teeth. Contact Carol thru email or call at 800-366-1472.
Almost Home for Hounds has many many dogs needing homes. These pictures are representative of the dogs there. It is always changing. Right now over 30% of the hounds there are older. Some of their pictures and stories are below. We think they are the Best Kept Secret. There are also many young ones, that haven't been handled, and need patient, understanding homes. If homes aren't found, they never get a chance at love.
I'm happy to help with any questions, just email me.

Love Letter is a sweet, old gal. She gets along with everyone, and is wise beyond her 9 years. Raced and bred, and likes cats.

Miss Rebecca is an 8 year old spit fire, with an opinion. Nothing slows her down, or gets in her way. She's full of personality and looking for love.

Rosa is a gorgeous smokey brindle. She's looking a little sad here, though, because all her teeth had to pulled. At eight years old, she's mellow and looking to give love.

Yosemite gets along with everyone, even cats. A friendly, outgoing girl, she is mellow and patient. She's nine.
NOTE: The Greyhound Gang is currently fundraising to help the over 50 hounds at Almost Home for Hounds and so we are not directly placing many greyhounds, except some very special ones. However, we do refer to these groups in our area, and are happy to answer any questions.
